Soldalite is a specially developed silicate paint for outdoor use. The paint is based on a special binder which consists of a combination of water glass and silica sol. This special binder allows the application of the paint not only on mineral, but also directly on a number of organic paints, without prior use of primers.
The paint is not film-forming, but open to diffusion. It is UV resistant, non-flammable and also counteracts moss and algae formation.
The paint does not contain MI, BIT or VOC.
Pretreatment
The substrate must have good load-bearing capacity and must be clean, dry, dust and grease-free. Loose paint and impurities are removed.
Strong absorbent substrate is pre-treated with Keim Soldalit-Fixativ.
KEIM Soldalit can be used on dispersion and silicone resin-bound paints and plasters as well as on mineral substrates. It cannot be applied to wood, plastic-elastic paints and oil paints.
Application
KEIM Soldalit is preferably applied undiluted with a roller or brush, usually in 2 layers. The first layer can optionally be diluted with up to max. 5%. However, for very absorbent substrates, it can be diluted with max. 10% Soldalit fixative. The ambient temperature must be above 5 degrees when applied.
